A Blizzard Warning will now go into effect from Friday at 7 p.m. to Sunday at 10 a.m. The storm is coming in earlier and the National Weather Service has increased the expected snow totals in our area to 18-24". Philadelphia has declared a snow emergency starting at 9pm Friday night. All cars must be cleared from snow emergency routes by that time or they will be towed. SEPTA will shutdown most services starting at 4 am Saturday morning including Regional Rail, bus and trolley lines, and the Norristown High Speed Line. The Market Frankford El and the Broad Street line will operate as usual. They will reevaluate restoring service starting for 4 am Sunday. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is returning from New Hampshire to deal with the storm instead of staying on the campaign trail.

Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett was released from Penn Presbyterian Medical Center today. Hartnett was ambushed two weeks ago while sitting in his patrol car in West Philadelphia by Edward Archer. He was shot three times in the left arm that required multiple surgeries to repair. Officer Hartnett still faces a long recovery. Archer confessed to police that he had pledged allegiance to Islamic State and that the shooting was an assassination. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing.

Tonight,
