Former Eagles and current Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is under investigation after two off-duty Philadelphia police officers were seriously assaulted and injured inside a nightclub over the weekend. It happened at the Recess Lounge located at 125 South 2nd Street in Old City around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday. It began as an argument over a bottle of champagne. The off-duty police officers along with a police sergeant had ordered four bottles of champagne when one of the three men with McCoy grabbed one. This led to an altercation. One officer was punched and knocked to the ground. He was then punched, kicked and stomped by all four men. The second officer tried to break it up. They were all kicked out of the club. One officer drove himself to the hospital and was treated for broken ribs, a broken nose, a laceration to his right eye and a sprained thumb. The other officer received stitches over his right eye and is being treated for a possible skull fracture. No arrests have been made yet. The four suspects include McCoy, former San Diego Chargers running back Curtis Brinkley, 30; former University of Pittsburgh player Tamarcus Porter, 27; and Christopher Henderson, 26. The police officers involved were Sgt. Daniel Ayres and Officers Darnell Jessie and Roland Butler.

Kathryn Knott was sentenced today for her role in the September 2014 Center City attack on gay couple. 25-year-old Knott from suburban Philadelphia was found guilty of simple assault and two other misdemeanors and not guilty of a felony assault charge. Today, she was sentenced to 5-10 months in jail followed by 2 years of probation. Knott was with a large group of friends that passed by a gay couple walking near Rittenhouse Square. A fight broke out and homophobic slurs were heard. One of the victims suffered a broken jaw that was wired shut for weeks. The two other men charged in the incident pled guilty and received probation.

Philadelphia Police has arrested a man who hit and dragged an officer during a traffic stop over the weekend. 52-year-old Kevin Cooke of Cheltenham, Pa. is charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Driving without a License and related offenses. Cooke was first pulled over around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning near 61st Street and Lancaster Avenue because he was driving without his headlights. The officer could smell alcohol and told the driver to turn off the car, instead he put the car into gear and took off. The officer was knocked over and grabbed the car. He held on for a short distance before letting go. Surprisingly he was not injured. Cooke sped off but was found a short time later after he crashed his car near the ramp from City Avenue onto Lincoln Drive and fled on foot to tennis courts near Kelly Drive and Ridge Avenue.
