Video footage has surfaced that reportedly shows the early Sunday morning brawl at Recess Nightclub in Old City involving off-duty Philadelphia Police officers and NFL player LeSean McCoy and acquaintances. Surveillance cameras were not working inside the private social club but the fight was caught on cell phone video. The fight started after an argument over a bottle of champagne. Two officers were taken to the hospital after they were seriously injured. McCoy can be seen in the footage getting involved with the fracas. No charges have been filed yet. The case has been referred to the District Attorney.

While Pennsylvania is still operating without a budget for 2015-16, Democratic Governor Tom Wolf delivered his second budget address for 2016-17 today. The $33.3 billion spending plan calls on a number of tax increases to fund. Those would include a rise in state income tax; extension of 6% sales tax to basic cable television, movie theater tickets and digital downloads; a $1 per pack tax increase on cigarettes; adding taxes on tax smokeless tobacco, cigars and e-cigarettes; and taxing natural gas extraction on the Marcellus Shale. He chided Republicans in the legislature for not voting for his previous budget. They responded by saying that is no way to garner votes. This year's budget seems to be starting off where last year's still is.

Lonely Planet has named Philadelphia #1 on its Best in the US list, places to travel to in the United States in 2016. They cite the recent visit by Pope Francis and our designation last year as the USA's first World Heritage City. This summer we will also be hosting the Democratic National Convention. There's all of the history and heritage plus great new growth and transformation. Lonely Planet also made note of the top notch breweries and restaurants now serving the city. The other destinations on the list include: Natchez, Mississippi; Yellowstone National Park; Birmingham, Alabama; Alaska; Somerville, Massachusetts; Northwest Arkansas; San Antonio; Southern New Mexico; and Milwaukee, WI.

Tonight,
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for 2-4” on snow. Temperatures will be steady in the mid 30's this evening in Center City.
