In the early morning hours on Sunday, February 14, a woman was struck with a beer bottle at a Northeast Philadelphia bar and she is now fighting for her life. The incident took place around 1:45 a.m. at Fiddlers Green, a bar located on the 7300 block of Frankford Avenue. Authorities say the victim was a 37-year-old woman who suffered a severe cut to the face and neck. Police say she required emergency surgery after the incident. The woman was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital and has been listed in critical condition. Authorities say the victim was dancing with another patron in the bar when another woman that she knew approached her. Police say the woman struck the victim in the head with a beer bottle and continued swinging the bottle, causing the facial and neck laceration.
No arrest has been made at this time as authorities continue to investigate the incident. Officials do say that they believe they know who the attacker is.
