A Philadelphia police detective has been suspended with intent to dismiss after being charged with assault. 43-year-old Detective Adam O'Donnell has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Kidnapping, Unlawful Restraint, and related offenses. He surrendered Wednesday to the Philadelphia Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit. It happened February 3rd. O'Donnell was escorting 45-year-old Theodore Life, Jr. out of the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victims Unit when he grabbed Life and kicked him once in the knee. He then put Life in an unmarked police car and dropped him off somewhere in Hunting Park. Life could not put weight on his leg and was treated for a non-displaced femur fracture. O'Donnell was a nine-year veteran of the Special Victims unit.

A Chester County man has been charged with attempted murder and rape in a Valentine's Day attack on his wife and her cousin. Two days before the attack, the victim put a protective order against her estranged husband, 45-year-old William Brown of West Nottingham, after he threatened to kill her. She changed the locks on her home and her cousin was staying with her for protection. Around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Brown kicked in the door and stabbed the cousin in the chest. He then dragged his wife to the bedroom where he raped her. The cousin was able to dial 9-1-1 and keep the phone hidden until State Troopers arrived and arrested Brown. The women were taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. Brown remains in Chester County Prison in lieu of $500,000 cash bail.

Police have made an arrest in connection with the body of a woman found alongside a road in Bensalem yesterday. Erik Finnegan has been charged with Abuse of Corpse. Police say that Finnegan put the body of 25-year-old Stephanie Machen of Norristown in the 400 block of Mill Road after she died of a drug overdose. Machen apparently had suffered a drug overdose sometime beforehand inside a home in the 700 block of West Russell Street in Philadelphia. Her body was discovered around 10 a.m. Tuesday along Mill Road. Finnegan remains in Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10% of $10,000 bail. Machen's death remains under investigation.

Partly Cloudy, temperatures in the mid 30's this evening in Center City
