Neshaminy Lockdown Lifted; Giant Food Recall; Schuylkill River Trail Expansion

A lockdown was lifted this morning at a Bucks County High School, and classes are on as normal today. Neshaminy High School went on lockdown last night after a man barricaded himself inside his home near the school. It happened after classes let out for the day Thursday, and the remaining students were picked up by their parents. One person was taken into custody on the 800 block of Granite Avenue around 10:00 pm Thursday night.

Giant Food Stores has announced a recall of Maytag Blue Cheese. The items impacted are: Maytag Blue Cheese - BulkUPC: 20835990000Codes: All Codes; and Maytag Blue Cheese Wedge - 4 OZUPC: 7221072698Codes: All Codes. According to Giant Food Stores’ website, Maytag Dairy Farms is voluntarily recalling the product because it has the possibility of being contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes. The product can be found in the Cheese Bazaar. Giant Food Stores’ states that customers can return any affected products for a full refund. They can call Maytag Dairy Farms with any additional questions Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at 800-247-2358.

The Schuylkill River Development Corp. is ready to start formal construction on the fourth installment of the now wildly popular waterfront trail. Called Bartram's Mile, the $6 million addition is the first segment to make the leap across the river and extend the recreation path into the neighborhoods of Southwest Philadelphia, including a swing bridge proposed to connect the Grays Ferry crescent with Bartram's Mile.
