Zika Virus Case in Montco, 20 and 15-year-old Charged in Philly Murder, Philly Home Ground-breaking

Montgomery County Health Officials have announced yesterday that they have a confirmed the first case of Zika virus in the county. Officials say that the person infected is a 55-year old woman who had recently traveled out of country to a place where the Zika virus has been found. According to officials this is the 6th confirmed case in Pennsylvania.

Police have announced yesterday that two men, 20-year-old Khalil Davenport and 15-year-old Nasir McNamee have been arrested and charged with a murder in North Philadelphia. The shooting took place back on March 2nd on the 2700 block of North Bonsall street. The two men shot and killed 20-year-old Jayvon Mitchell-Pendelton while he was walking down the street. The two men have been charged with attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault as well as other related charges.

The organization Project Home is providing new housing in Philly. Mayor Jim Kenney and one of Project Home's leaders Sister Mary Scullion led the groundbreaking ceremony at 2415 North Broad Street. The housing facility will have 88 apartments for formerly homeless men and women. In addition to the apartments, the building will also have retail spaces on the ground floor.
