The Tredyffrin Township woman accused of kidnapping a 7-week old baby from the King of Prussia Mall on Thursday evening was charged in a Montgomery County court on Friday. 32-year-old Cherie Amoore was charged with Kidnapping of a Minor, Unlawful Restraint, False Imprisonment, Interference with the Custody of a Child, Concealment of the Whereabouts of a Child, and other related charges. She was arraigned and is being held on $500,000 cash bail. According to court documents, Amoore told police that she gave birth to a baby boy in February which died hours later. She said that she did not go to the mall looking to take a child, but when she held the baby all the feelings rushed back and she walked away. Baby Ahsir Simmons was found safe just a few hours later.

A 13-year-old boy was struck by a Philadelphia police officer this afternoon in the city's Spring Garden section. It happened at 5:15 p.m. at Broad Street and Fairmount Avenue. The officer was responding to a call in the area when his cruiser hit the teen. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A body was found inside a home after a fire in the Tioga-Nicetown section this evening. The fire started around 7 p.m. 1900 block of W. Bristol Street around 7 p.m. Friday. It took around 25 minutes to bring the fire under control. While searching the home the body of an unidentified woman was discovered in the basement. It is not yet known if she died because of the fire or before.
