LeSean McCoy Will Not Face Charges; Man Wanted For Fake NCAA Tix; Wilson Will Stay at Princeton

Former Philadelphia Eagles' running back LeSean McCoy will not face any charges stemming from a nightclub brawl that left two off-duty Philadelphia Police officers with serious injuries. District Attorney Seth Williams announced today that, “There is insufficient evidence to prove that any individual committed a criminal offense.” He explained that while it is clear there was a physical altercation with injuries there was not enough credible evidence to determine who was the initial aggressor and if some were acting in self-defense or in defense of others. It happened on February 7th at 2:45 a.m. at the Recess Lounge in Old City. McCoy and three others apparently got into the argument and subsequent altercation with the officers over a bottle of champagne. One officer suffered broken ribs and a broken nose. The other received eight stitches over his left eye and a possible skull fracture.

Philadelphia Police are looking for a suspect wanted for selling counterfeit tickets to the Eastern Regionals of the NCAA Tournament held at the Wells Fargo Center on March 24th. The man, who identified himself as 'Sebastian Murphy,' arranged the sale of the tickets to a 48-year-old woman through Craigslist. They met in Rittenhouse Square on the 1800 block of Market Street where she paid $300 for the pair. When she presented the tickets at the game, however, she was told they were fake. The man is described as a black male, mid to late 20's, average height, thin build, wearing a white shirt, dark-colored pants, white sneakers and a black and red baseball cap. If you have any information on this incident or suspect call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.

Princeton University announced that it's School of Public and International Affairs will still be named after President Woodrow Wilson after a call from a group of students who questioned his racist views. The Black Justice League held a 32-hour sit-in last fall demanding his name be removed. Wilson was president of the university from 1902 – 1910 and president of our country from 1913 – 1921. He won the Nobel Peace prize in 1919. Wilson, however, supported segregation. His name has been on the school for over 80 years. Princeton did vow to promote other means of diversity and inclusion.
