Villanova University has announced plans for a parade to celebrate the Men's Basketball 2016 NCAA National Championship. It will be held this Friday, April 8th in Center City Philadelphia. The parade will start at 20th and Market and end at Dilworth Park next to City Hall. More details about the parade will be coming. The mayor's office says that the university will pay for most of the $22,000 price tag. Mayor Kenney sees the celebration as great for the city with many people taking the train into Center City and staying for lunch, dinner, and drinks. The team arrived home this afternoon to an on campus celebration at the Villanova football stadium.

At least three people were arrested and 27 injured during last night's revelries along Lancaster Ave near Villanova University after thousands flooded the streets to celebrate the basketball team's first national championship since 1985. The team won 77-74 on a last second 3-pointer by Kris Jenkins. Police closed Rt. 30 in several spots from Bryn Mawr to I-476. Students, alumni, and other fans chanted and shouted. Some climbed poles and there were several small bonfires lit as police in riot gear stood by. Most of the celebrants were behaved. No one was seriously injured. Streets were reopened by 2:30 a.m.

Tonight,
Clear skies, lower 40s/upper 30s this evening in Center City.
