Police say a man was found shot to death inside a car parked on a West Philadelphia street overnight. Neighbors called police to the 1600 block of North Redfield Street early Tuesday because they thought the man was either asleep or dead. The car was still running when neighbors discovered the victim. Police found the 25 year old had been shot three times.

Pennsylvania Representatives Brendan Boyle and Patrick Meehan visited the Naval Air Station Willow Grove to apply public pressure to the Environmental Protection Agency to finalize new standards for safe levels of chemicals in drinking water. Meehan said that while the EPA has set regulations on short-term exposure to the chemicals found in the drinking water around the base, it also must explore the effects of long-term exposure.

The Big 5 Coaches dinner was last night and St. Joseph’s University head coach Phil Martelli accepted the Big 5 Coach of the Year trophy. The award was decided before Villanova’s championship run. Martelli said the trophy really belonged to Villanova coach Jay Wright. Martelli joked he would just borrow the trophy for the night and drop it at Jay Wright’s house on his way home.
