Philly Police Officer Arrested, Philly Announces New Agriculture Process, Jingle Creator Dies

A Philadelphia Police Officer has now been arrested in connection with a domestic incident with his girlfriend. 28-year-old Officer Alex McAdams has been arrested burglary, criminal trespass, theft, and criminal mischief. Police say McAdams broke into his girlfriends apartment, took a personal item of her's and then chased her out of the apartment. Commissioner Ross now says McAdams will be suspended for 30 days with intent to dismiss him.

Philadelphia officials announced yesterday that the city will start to participate in the growing form of agriculture known as vertical farming. Pennsylvania's Secretary of Agriculture announced the plan, Vertical Farming is used to grow fresh and pesticide-free plants and produce by growing them inside year round in an urban environment. Experts are now saying that Philadelphia could become the main area for production and training for vertical farming.

Philadelphia native, Les Waas, who was the man who created the Mister Softee jingle for ice cream trucks died at the age of 94. Waas created the jingle in the 1960's for the Philadelphia based company. Waas also created 970 other jingles over his 50-year-career in the business. Waas died at Abington Hospice in Warminster, PA.
