Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect who escaped police custody from a hospital. 24-year-old Khalil Robinson was arrested Wednesday evening for DUI and narcotics offenses outside 65th and Woodland Avenue in West Philadelphia. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital. When two officers arrived to relieve the prisoner detail, one officer went into the room to check to see if Robinson was handcuffed. That's when the prisoner jumped up and ran from the room. They chased him around the nurse's station and out of the hospital. He ran into a park across the street and officers lost him around the 3800 block of Warren Street. Anyone with information is asked to call Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183

The Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee for the Democratic National Convention announced that the city will be holding PoliticalFest alongside the DNC this July. PoliticalFest will be a six-day, family-friendly festival covering politics and American history. Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, chairman of the host committee, started the fest in 2000 for the GOP convention in Philadelphia. It will be held in 7 different locations, each with a different theme: National Convention Center (Headed to the White House), National Liberty Museum (First Families), The Philadelphia History Museum at the Atwater Kent (Philadelphia & the Presidency), Pennsylvania Convention Center (Politics & You!), The Philadelphia Library Company (Presidential Archives), Historical Society of Pennsylvania (Founding Documents), Heritage Center at the Union League (Political Conventions in Philadelphia). The fest is open to all, not just convention goers. Tickets are $15 adults, $5 under 18 and students, free for convention attendees, seniors, and veterans. The PHLASH busses will shuttle ticket holders between sites.

A Chester County woman has been sentenced to 4-10 years in prison for helping to inject her teenage daughter and her boyfriend with heroin. 34-year-old Jessica Lynn Riffey of West Caln Township pled guilty to charges of child endangerment, delivery of heroin and conspiracy. On multiple occasions last fall she supplied heroin to her 14-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old boyfriend and helped them to shoot up. Riffey is expected to testify against her own boyfriend who allegedly brought the drugs into the trailer home where the family lived.
