Over a dozen middle school students from Bucks County were hospitalized this afternoon following a field trip. Six grade students from William Penn Middle School in Lower Makefield went to Arm & Hammer Park to see the Trenton Thunder minor league baseball game. Two students complained of feeling lightheaded and of other symptoms of heat exhaustion and were taken to Capital Health in Trenton for treatment. When the class returned to school, over 12 more students complained of the same symptoms. Some were treated by paramedics at the school while others were taken to area hospitals. All students are expected to be ok.

A Philadelphia Police officer was injured this morning during a collision involving his cruiser and another car. The accident happened around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Price Street. The officer was responding to a call when he was struck by a vehicle. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center and is in stable condition. The driver was also taken to Einstein but her condition is unknown. It is also unknown whether the cruiser had on its lights and sirens.

A man was stabbed and shot this afternoon in Germantown. It happened at 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of North Gratz and Jefferson Streets. The 36-year-old man was stabbed twice in the chest and shot once in the arm. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and is in critical condition. At this time police do not have a motive or a suspect.
