DNC Road Closures Map in Philadelphia; PPA and Uber Reach Agreement; Dorney Park Pics Guilty Plea

The Secret Service has released a map detailing road closures and highway restrictions for the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. The convention will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly from July 25-28th. The road closures will start two days before the convention and end the day after. They will be in effect on July 23-29th. All of the road closures are limited to the areas immediately around the sports complex and Wells Fargo Center and are far smaller in scope than when Pope Francis visited last year. All area highways will be open. The only highway restriction is for trucks traveling on I-95. They will have to detour around South Philly between Penrose Ave and I-676. More more detailed information about the road closures read the Secret Service press release and View the Map.

The Philadelphia Parking Authority and Uber have reached a deal that will allow the ride sharing company to operate legally in the city over the summer. Uber will to pay a settlement of $350,000 and the PPA has agreed not to enforce any of it's regulations against drivers such as impounding cars. This ends several legal disputes. The agreement comes in the wake of SEPTA removing 120 cars from it's Regional Rail fleet and Uber and PPA hope this can help alleviate some of the travel stress on commuters especially with the upcoming DNC. The truce runs through September 30th. The Pennsylvania legislature is expected to pass a law regulating ride sharing in Philadelphia before then. Lyft is not apart of this deal but they are in talks with the PPA.

A Montgomery County man admitted in court today to videotaping children changing clothes at a popular amusement park and editing them into videos. He also admitted to trading child pornography online. 52-year-old Kurt Eichert of Springfield Township, Montgomery County pled guilty Tuesday to possessing and distributing sexually explicit images of children. Eichert was indicted in December of creating movies titled "Water Park Fun" and sharing them online. He would film the children at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom near Allentown, PA. Eichert was charged with attempted sexual abuse of children and violations of electronic surveillance and wiretap laws in 1996. He pled guilty to corruption of minors and received probation. His sentencing date is October 13th.
