Pokemon Go Lands Sex Offender in Jail; NJ Tax Bill for Christie's Lawyers; Developer Sues Marple Twp

Pokemon Go, the popular augmented reality game is being blamed for a sex offender violating his probation. In Indiana a registered sex offender was arrested for playing the game with children outside a courthouse. The mobile game established the Hancock County Courthouse, east of Indianapolis, as a site that draws players in. That violated the terms of a plea agreement the offender agreed to in a child molestation case, just three months ago which prohibits him from interacting with children.

New Jersey taxpayers have paid $8.2 million for Governor Chris Christie's private attorneys handling the fallout from the George Washington Bridge lane-closing case. Invoices released by the attorney general include law firms, risk management and legal investigations. Former Christie allies are charged in the case; he is not.

The developer who lost the right to build on a 213-acre tract owned by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia began legal action this week against Marple Township. Jenkintown developer Bruce Goodman, acting as Cardinal Crossing Realty Associates L.P., proposed hundreds of town homes and big-box stores on the forested plot after he won the rights to develop it in 2014 by bidding $47 million. Marple Township’s seven commissioners repeatedly rejected his plans.

Tonight the Phillies have the New York Mets.
