An unidentified man using suction cups attempted to scale Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, New York City, this afternoon. The man began his ascent of the 58-story building from a publically accessible sub roof garden around 4:00 pm. During the climb he avoided NYPD, FDNY, and Emergency Services workers who opened up ventilation grates, broke through windows, and lowered window washing equipment in attempts to get to him. He was on the 56th Street side of the building and 5th Avenue was shut down. A large inflatable air bag was placed underneath. At around 6:30, police were able to pull him into an open window on the 21st floor. TMZ published a video of the man saying he was an 'independent researcher' and had an 'important message' to deliver to Donald Trump. The Republican presidential nominee's offices are in the building. He also lives there, but he was not in the building at the time.

UPDATE: He has only been identified as a 19-year-old from Virginia. The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital for a psychological evaluation. Charges are expected to be filed sometime Thursday.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in the murder of his mother and her boyfriend in their Montgomery County apartment last week. Joshua Trunk is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, possessing instruments of a crime, and firearms violations. Police were called to the Forrest Garden Apartments in Ambler around 11:15 p.m. on July 31st for the report of gunfire. They discovered 54-year-old Janice Trunk and 44-year-old Kevin Milton Smith in the master bedroom shot multiple times. Joshua had recently completed a one week stay at Eagleville Hospital having being committed there for mental instability. He has been in custody on unrelated drug charges since the night of the murders.

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams announced charges against 32 people and 3 corporations in a massive car theft ring. The complex scheme involved stealing cars from rental car companies. They would then take VIN numbers from salvaged cars bought at auction and put them in the stolen vehicles. They then sold the doctored cars with fake documentation to unknowing buyers. Detectives have recovered most of the 45 cars sold. Now those customers, as well as the rental companies, and insurance agencies will try to recoup their losses.
