Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has nominated former First Deputy Attorney General Bruce Beemer for temporary Attorney General. He would replace former Solicitor General Bruce Castor who was sworn into office as acting Attorney General. Beemer testified against the convicted Kathleen Kane who resigned yesterday. Beemer's nomination must be approved by the Senate, however, they aren't scheduled to return to session until the end of September. Pennsylvanians will vote on a new Attorney General in November who will be sworn in on January 17th.

A Bucks County woman has been arrested for allegedly administering performance enhancing drugs to horses to rig races at Parx Casino. 25-year-old Marian Vega of Bensalem was charged with one count of rigging a publicly exhibited contest. Vega worked as a groom at Parx. An investigation by the state's Horse Racing Commission and the Attorney General's Organized Crime Section and Gaming Unit discovered that she was improperly giving certain horses Clenbuterol. The drug is used to treat horses with respiratory disease, but when used outside guidelines it has performance-enhancing effects. She was released after posting $20,000 unsecured bail.

The expansion project at the King of Prussia Mall that now connects the Court and the Plaza officially opened this morning. Owner Simon Property Group declared it “one mall” at a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. It is certainly not just a hallway with a roof either, the new expansion has 50 new retailers, 20 restaurants, and a new food court with WiFi and fountains. Some of the new stores include Jimmy Choo, Bonobos, Cartier, David Yurman, and CH Carolina Herrera. Some of the new food options include Melt Shop, Shake Shack, Hai Street Kitchen, and Sweetgreen.

Tonight,
Partly Cloudy, temperatures in the mid 80's this evening in Center City
