Hillary Clinton was in the Philadelphia area today making a campaign stop in Haverford Township, Delaware County. The family town hall style event was held at the Haverford Community Recreation and Environmental Center (CREC) in front of a small crowd of only a few hundred. Chelsea Clinton and actress Elizabeth Banks, a Penn alumna, also appeared. The focus of the event was women, children and families. Clinton took questions directly from the audience. The Democratic presidential candidate has another appearance in Pennsylvania in Harrisburg later on Tuesday. Tonight, the vice-presidential candidates will take the debate stage.

A man was shot and killed in Atlantic County, NJ last night after a barricade situation. It started around 6:30 pm last night on the 700 block of North Burgley Avenue in Ventnor. 49-year-old John H. Fetter had threatened his father with a shotgun. The father grabbed the gun and they began to wrestle with it. A call was placed to Ventnor Police who went to investigate. Police heard shots fired from inside the house and set up a perimeter. SWAT was then called to the scene. They were able to get Fetter's parents out of the house safely. At 7:38 pm., Fetter came out of the house and pointed a hand gun at police . Authorities opened fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation continues.

The teenager arrested in the shooting death of an 8-year-old Camden girl in August was in court today for arraignment. 18-year-old Tyhan Brown is charged with murder and related offenses. Gabby Carter was caught in the crossfire outside her home on the 900 block of South 8th Street on August 24th. She died two days later. Brown fled to Tennessee where he was tracked down and arrested. Brown's mother and girlfriend were also arrested for providing false alibi information for Brown to investigators. He is being held on $1.5 million bail. No trial date has been set. Additional arrests are expected in this case.
