A man was shot and killed Monday night in Kensington on his 30th birthday. Police responded to several 911 calls to the area of Allegheny Avenue and F Street around 11:30 p.m. They found a man lying in the middle of street, unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the head and upper back. He died at Temple University Hospital. Chief Inspector Scott Small said that according to witness accounts he was involved in an earlier physical altercation with other males. Police believe that is the motive for the shooting. The suspect is described as "as a male wearing no shirt and cut-off blue jean shorts." Investigators are looking at surveillance footage in the area.

Police are investigation an armed home invasion in Center City on Tuesday morning. It happened just before 11:30 a.m. on the 1400 block of Lombard Street in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood. Police say that two men armed with a gun entered the home and made off with cash and a Xbox. No one was injured. They fled west on Lombard in a vehicle. The first suspect was wearing gray sweats and a gray hat. The second suspect had a stocky build, beard, and was wearing a navy shirt and blue hat.

The pursuit of a suspected shoplifter led police in Delaware County to the discovery of a suspected meth lab and the arrest of three people early Tuesday morning. It started around 1:30 a.m. when a CVS Pharmacy clerk pointed out a customer who had attempted to buy more than the daily limit of pseudoephedrine to a Glenolden police officer in the store. When approached the man fled with unpaid items. The officer put out an alert with the man's description. He was spotted by another officer entering a home about a mile away on the 1200 block of MacDade Boulevard in Collingdale. Police knocked on the door and spotted chemicals and other tell tale evidence in the apartment. The duplex was evacuated. The State Police hazmat team obtained a warrant and confirmed it was indeed a meth lab. Two men and a woman from that apartment were taken into custody. No word on charges yet.
