A car crash that turned into a fiery blaze occurred in West Philadelphia on Sunday morning. The crash happened at 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of 53rd and Chestnut Street. Police say that a car was traveling down Chestnut street when it collided with another car causing it to crash into a utility pole. The car then caught fire, consuming the car and the entire pole. The fire then spread to an awning of a grocery store, but crews came on site in time to put the fire out. Both the man and woman drivers were taken to the hospital where they are in stable condition.

Dozens of South Philadelphia residents had to be evacuated from their homes after a gas leak occurred on their street. The leak happened at around 4 pm on Sunday at the intersection of 10th and Christian Street. Crews said that a man was working on his water heater when he hit a gas line causing the leak. Residents were evacuated from their homes just as a precaution. Police stated that the situation is under control and the residents were able to go back to their homes.

A flight at the Philadelphia International Airport was delayed on Sunday morning after two people gained unauthorized access to the plane. American Airlines flight 1655 that was set to fly from Philadelphia to Boston at 8 a.m. was delayed because of the incident. Investigators are currently looking into how the people were able to open the secured door to get into the plane that was controlled by the airport. Authorities say that the passengers are not suspected of foul play and they think the two people got on the plane by accident. The plane was able to take off by 11 am.
