Anti-Trump Protests In Philly, Trump Pulls Page From Site, Will Christie Be In Trump's Committee?

Hundreds of people in Philly took to the streets on Wednesday night to protest the election of Donald Trump for President of the United States. Protestors began at City Hall around 7 pm, and continued North on Broad Street in Center City. The protestors caused sporadic road closures on Broad Street, and also interrupting evening SEPTA services. Around 500 people were involved in the protest including many students from the University of Pennsylvania. Protests were also formed in California, New York, and Chicago to oppose Trump as President.

A statement on Donald Trump's website proposing a total ban on all immigration of Muslims to the United States has now disappeared from the site. Trump put the statement on his website back on December 7th saying "Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on," Trump said on his website on Dec. 7, 2015. The statement caused backlash from the public. The page on his website was up and running till November 5th only a couple days from election day. The page now redirects to the campaign homepage.

During Trump's acceptance speech on Wednesday, he sent a thank you to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for all his work he did on the campaign. Now, New Jersey residents and government officials are wondering what is next for Gov. Christie and what role he will play in Trump's committee. Christie currently serves as the chair of Trump's transition team to The White House, and is said to be a possible choice for Trump's Chief of Staff, Homeland Security, or Attorney General. Although Christie has been facing troubles with the Bridgegate scandal, officials say that Christie should take a position if he is offered one because they say he could play a big role in Washington.

Weather

Today, Clear and Sunny, with a high of 58 degrees in Center City.
