A 20-year-old man is now in critical condition after an accident involving a police cruiser that happened Monday night. The incident happened at around 5 pm Monday at Torresdale Avenue and Howell Street in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia. Police stated that one of their cruisers on patrol made a left turn onto Howell Street. That's when their cruiser was struck by the 20-year-old man who was riding down the street at a high speed on a dirt bike. The 20-year-old man was then rushed to Aria Health Torresdale where he is listed in critical condition. One of the police officers who was injured was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. So far no arrests have been made.

Monday night was the closing night of the Philadelphia International Unity Cup, and Mayor Jim Kenney gave a speech addressing the numerous hate related crimes and attacks that have been going on in the city after the election last Tuesday. Kenney addressed many incidents that have taken place such as the flash mob that happened this past Saturday, as well as the racist messages sent to black freshmen at Penn. Kenney stated that "Regardless of whether you are committing these crimes or saying these slurs in support of the President-elect or against him, it is not welcome in Philadelphia." Kenney also addressed the protestors who have been taking to the city's streets and asked them to channel their feelings in to works that will serve to benefit the communities in the city.

The Cherry Hill Police Department has now begun using their new body camera system for their police officers. Police Officials in Cherry Hill stated that they have installed their second generation of cruiser cameras, and felt it was time to make more progress with body cameras. Every officer is now required to wear a body camera while they are on duty and then at the end of the day, the footage from their body camera is uploaded onto evidence.com, which is a cloud-based storage system for the footage. Officials have also stated that there is no way for footage to be altered by anyone once it is recorded and uploaded.
