76ers Game Postponed, PA Vote Recount Denied, Overbrook Hit-And-Run Suspect In Custody

The 76ers had to postpone Wednesday night's game against the Sacramento Kings due the court being too slippery to play on. Sixers officials released a statement on Wednesday night saying the game "has been postponed due to an issue with the surface of the court and with player safety in mind. Arena officials worked diligently to address the issue, but NBA officials determined that the court was not suitable for play." Sixers officials also stated that ticket holders for Wednesday's game will be given another ticket to a game on either Dec. 5th against the Nuggets, Dec. 14th against the Raptors, or Dec. 18th against the Nets. The date of the makeup game has been announced. Tickets and parking receipts to tonight's game will be honored.

A judge has now denied the motion from the Green Party candidate Jill Stein who was requesting a recount of the presidential election results in 78 voting districts in Montgomery County. Stein wanted to get a forensic check and a recount of the voter machines used at the polling areas because of possible voter machine hacking. One of the attorney's from the county board of elections stated that the machines cannot be hacked, and called Stein's attempt a fishing expedition. PA GOP Lawyer Lawrence Tabas said that there is already an analysis done on voting machines. "This is just disappointed electors who their candidate didn't win," Tabas said. "So I hate to say this, but I don't want this to become the new norm that if you don't like the results, oh well let's go and recount a few divisions and see if we can't get the number up."

Philadelphia Police have now arrested the suspect responsible for a hit and run accident in Overbrook that took the life of a young girl. A 24-year-old man has been placed into police custody for the hit-and-run accident that took place back on November 18th. Police have also stated that they seized the suspect's car at a body shop in Frazer, Chester County which eventually led them to the suspect. Police say the suspect's charges are pending, but will most likely be leaving the scene of an accident and possibly vehicular manslaughter. Philadelphia Police stated they would like to thank the public for all the tips they received which helped in finding the suspect.
