New Jersey State Police responded to a call last night of a fatal car crash that took place in Millville, Cumberland County. The accident happened at around 7 pm on Monday night in the northbound lanes of Route 55. The crash involved a police car and another vehicle. The man in the car was killed as a result of the crash, and the officer in the police cruiser was seriously injured. The officer was taken away in a helicopter and flown to Cooper University Hospital where he is listed in serious condition. Police had to shut down lanes on Route 55 in both directions near Schooner Landing Road due to the accident. The car was heading southbound when it crossed the median and struck the trooper head-on. The trooper was traveling northbound responding to a call at the time.

UPDATE 1:15 a.m. 12/6/16: N.J. State Police Trooper Frankie Williams has died from his injuries following car crash on Rt. 55 in Millville on Monday night.

Police are now investigating after a shooting occurred in the Germantown section of Philadelphia Monday night that left a teenager in critical condition. The incident happened at around 8:20 pm on the 300 block of Apsley Street. Police arrived on the scene to find a 17-year-old laying on the street with gunshot wounds to his left hip and back of the head. Police believe that the teen was robbed at Fenhill Park and then ran to Apsley Street after. The teen's cell phone and wallet was stolen in the incident. Officers were able to get him to Einstein Medical Center where he is being treated and listed in critical condition. Police are still searching for a suspect.

Falls Township Police in Bucks County have now stated that there have been 10 heroin overdose cases in the past 10 days. Officials have stated that out of the 10 cases, 4 of them resulted in death. Falls Township Police believe that in two of the fatal overdoses the drugs may have come from Philadelphia, and the other two fatal cases the drugs may have come from Trenton. The overdoses are suspected to be linked to the bad batch of heroin that circulated in Philadelphia killing nine people in Kensington this past weekend. Police in Falls Township said that there have been 20 fatal overdoses and 80 non-fatal overdoses in the past year alone.
