Temple Students Robbed in Apartment, Search For Officer's Uniform Theft, Montco 2017 Budget Approved

Four Temple University students were robbed in their off campus apartment. The incident happened on the 1900 block of 18th Street after 5 am on Thursday. The victims told police they were asleep in their apartment, and when they woke up in the early morning hours they found a man in a ski mask, carrying a gun, robbing their apartment. The suspect was able to escape the apartment with a laptop and some of the victim's iPhones. Luckily none of the victims were hurt in the robbery. Police are reviewing surveillance footage to find the suspect.

Philadelphia Police are now searching for a man who apparently stole a Philly Police officer's badge, hat, and patrol jacket. The incident took place on Tuesday at the Criminal Justice Center in Philadelphia on the 1300 block of Filbert Street just before noon. Police say that the officer had put his uniform on a bench outside of a courtroom before he went in to testify for a case. Police then reported that a black male between the ages of 40-50 grabbed the clothes and left the building. Police are asking the public's help in finding the suspect, and anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.

Montgomery County's Board of Commissioners has now approved the budget for 2017, which they have been debating for a while now. County officials held four hours of public hearings on the budget earlier this month, and as they were ready to vote, commissioner Joe Gale tried to propose a list that would possibly save the county seven million dollars. Gale's proposal was shut down though because he did not have a strong enough case. The budget was passed that would raise the average homeowners taxes $66, as well as adding funds for the community college, 911 fund, and a raise for county employees.

Weather

Tonight, Partly Cloudy and frigid temperatures with a low of 16 degrees in Center City.
