The Flyers managed to get a win Wednesday night against the Capitals after losing 2 games coming off their 10-game win streak. This was the first time the teams have played since the Flyers got knocked out of the playoffs last season by the Capitals. The Flyers were able to get a 3-2 victory over the Capitals, with Michael Raffl and Claude Giroux scoring goals during the game, and Jakub Voracek and Wayne Simmonds scoring in a tie-breaking shootout. Flyers Goalie Steve Mason was also able to pull in a whopping 36 saves as well as stopping 3 straight goals during the shootout. Steve Mason stated "It's definitely good to get back in the win column, you go on a ten-game winning streak and you can't let it slide. You can't let it slide and counteract everything we did on the winning streak." "I was just praying (Simmonds) was going to give me one more goal to work with and we were able to pull it out." The Flyers play the Devils Thursday night at 7.

No. 1 ranked Villanova had an astounding victory over American University Wednesday night, sealing the game at 90-48, making this the Wildcats' 18th win in a row, and bringing their in season record to 12-0. Villanova big man Josh Hart made a big impact in the game, scoring 20 points, as well as making two 3 pointers, and going 7 of 14 in overall shots. The first half of the game started out sluggish for both teams, but once the second half hit the Wildcats took off. Villanova made 9 of 10 shots during a 21-2 lead as well as scoring on 15 of their 20 possessions in the second half. Next up for the Wildcats is against DePaul on December 28th.

The Eagles are set to take on the Giants Thursday night and the birds have a few familiar faces returning to the field as well as some faces that we might not see getting some playing time. As it has been announced all week Eagles OT Lane Johnson is expected to start in Thursdays game, as he is coming off a 10-game suspension for failing the NFL's performance enhancing drug test for the second time. Another Eagle that is expected to make an appearance is RB Darren Sproles who missed last Sunday's game against the Ravens due to being on concussion protocol after a questionable hit he sustained two weeks ago against Redskin's safety Deshazor Everett. Still unknown at this time is if Eagles OL Allen Barbe, WR Jordan Matthews, OG Isaac Seumalo, and OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai will be present in the field. The Eagles play Thursday at 8:25 against the Giants.
