Deadly Car Crash In S.Phila, 81-Year-Old Killed In S. Phila, George Michael Dies At 53

Philadelphia Police are now investigating a deadly car crash that took place early Sunday morning. The incident happened on Broad Street and Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia at around 1:30 am. Police say that a driver in a Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Washington Avenue when he hit the front driver's side of an oncoming Kia. The driver in the Honda crashed into a traffic pole and knocked down a fire hydrant. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver in the Kia was also taken to Jefferson and is in stable condition. Police are still continuing to investigate the crash.

An elderly South Philadelphia store owner was shot and killed on Saturday in her store. 81-year-old Marie Buck, who was the owner of Marie's Grocery store, was shot and killed at around 9 am Saturday on the intersection of South 6th and Titan Streets. Police stated that a man dressed in all black entered the shop and shot the woman multiple times without saying a word or stealing anything from the store. Buck was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Philadelphia Police.

Singer/Songwriter George Michael passed away on Sunday at the age of 53. Michael died in his home in Goring, England and the cause of death is unknown at this point, stated his publicist. Michael got his start in the music business in his pop duo WHAM! where they had made hits including "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go." George Michael also had an amazing solo career selling over 20 million copies of his solo debut record "Faith." Michael also played with many legends including Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Luciano Pavarotti, and Elton John.
