Fatal Shooting at Tioga-Nicetown Checkers, Missing Woman And Child Found, Debbie Reynolds Dies at 84

Philadelphia Homicide Detectives are now investigating a deadly shooting that took place on Wednesday night in the Tioga-Nicetown section of Philadelphia. The shooting took place outside of a Checkers restaurant on the 1300 block of West Butler Street. Police arrived on the scene to find a man in his 20's shot in the head and back. The man was later pronounced dead. Police are still investigating the shooting and are looking for a motive and a possible suspect.

The woman and child from New Jersey who went missing back on Christmas Eve while traveling to North Carolina were found alive in Virginia. Barbara and La'Myra Briley were found inside of their vehicle on private property in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, just before 5 pm. They were parked a mile away from a road, and it is not clear how they ended up in the rural area. Barbara Briley was rushed to the VCU Medical Center in Richmond for treatment, according to police, she was not responsive to the police's questions. 5-year-old La'Myra appeared unharmed but was still transported till the hospital. Police are still investigating how the two ended up in the rural area.

Actress Debbie Reynolds, best known for her role in the 1952 classic "Singin' in the Rain" died at the age of 84 on Wednesday one day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher. Reynolds suffered a stroke earlier Wednesday afternoon and her son, Todd Fisher, stated that the death of her daughter Carrie "was too much" for her. Reynolds had a vast career that started at the age of 19 when she was cast in MGM's "Singin' in the Rain". Reynolds went on to star in many more roles as well as branch off onto Broadway, and a singing career that got her both a Tony and an Oscar nomination.
