Sixers vs Jazz, Villanova Seals DePaul Victory, Penn State Suspends Players From Rose Bowl

The Sixers face the Utah Jazz Thursday night and both teams will be getting a bit of change to their roster. Utah Jazz starting point guard George Hill could be returning to the roster Thursday, Hill has missed the past 13 games as he was recovering from a sprained toe. The Jazz have been struggling at times in the past couple of games on offensive due to the absence of Hill. "It's hard to play without your starting point guard and that's George Hill playing 34 minutes, (in) those 34 minutes, I think the way he takes care of the ball will help." The Sixers are also getting a change to their roster as well, as starting center Joel Embiid will sit out against the Jazz to rest up for their game against Denver on Friday. With Embiid out of the roster for the game, this could give third string center Nerlens Noel a chance to play more after his 24 game absence.

Villanova was able to seal a victory over DePaul Wednesday night winning 68-65 and giving No. 1 Villanova their 19th straight victory. The Wildcats lead for most of the game, getting a 51-39 lead over DePaul with 16 minutes left in the 2nd half, but DePaul responded with a 14-0 run giving them a 53-51 lead over the Wildcats. Senior Wildcat Josh Hart was able to secure the win by scoring 10 points in the final 3 minutes of the game. Next up, the Wildcats take on Creighton this upcoming Saturday.

Penn State has announced they are suspending two key players for the Rose Bowl. Junior wide receiver Saeed Blacknall and Sophomore linebacker Manny Bowen have been suspended due to "violation of team rules." Both players will be missing the Rose Bowl game against USC on January 2nd.
