The City of Philadelphia has announced they will be issuing a Code Blue due to the extreme cold coming our way in the next couple days. Until next Wednesday, the Philly area is facing highs in only the 30's and officials are warning pedestrians to stay indoors during the harsh cold. The Code Blue will be issued until 6 am on January 10th. The Code Blue is issued to help get homeless people off the streets during periods of extreme cold. If you see anyone in need of shelter, you are asked to contact Project Home (215-232-1984), or the Philadelphia Police.

Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a man was shot while sitting on his porch in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. The shooting took place on the 200 block of E. Indiana Avenue at 8:50 pm on Wednesday night. Police say the man was sitting on the porch of his home with his sister-in-law when a stray bullet hit him in the forehead. The man was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Police are still searching for the suspect.

A SEPTA bus driver who struck and killed a man in Glenside was found guilty on Wednesday. SEPTA driver Katrina Sanders struck and killed 93-year-old Edward Hill Sr. on Limekiln Pike in Glenside last April. Video from the crash showed that Sanders was driving and looking at papers, she was still holding the papers as she struck Hill as we was walking in the crosswalk. He was pronounced dead on the scene. No other passengers were hurt in the crash. Sanders has been found guilty of homicide by vehicle.
