At least 5 people were killed, and 8 injured in a shooting at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida. It happened just before 1 p.m. at the baggage claim inside Terminal 2. The gunman was taken into custody unharmed. He has been identified as 26-year-old Esteban Santiago born in New Jersey but has lived in recently in Alaska and has an address in Naples, FL. He also served six years in the National Guard and did a tour in Iraq. Santiago was a passenger on a flight from Anchorage, AK through Minneapolis, MN to Fort Lauderdale. He had the handgun in his checked luggage. He claimed his bag, loaded the gun in the bathroom, and came out shooting randomly. Santiago then laid down and waited for police. He is being interrogated by Broward County police and the FBI. The airport was shut down, no flights are going in and out. Hundreds of people were evacuated on to the tarmac. The scene is considered active and fluid and currently being investigated. The situation is on going. It does not appear to be an act of terrorism, but Santiago's motive is not currently known. He was recently undergoing treatment for mental health problems.

A Philadelphia pizza delivery man who was mistakenly shot multiple times by two plain clothes officers in West Philadelphia in 2014 has settled with the city for $4.4 million. The now 23-year-old Philippe Holland was out making a delivery when he was approached by officers searching for a gunman involved in a nearby shooting. Holland ignored their commands thinking they were trying to rob him and got into his car and started to drive away. The officers opened fire and shot 14 times. He was hit in the head, face, and leg. Hollande now suffers from a seizure disorder and chronic pain. As part of the settlement, Philadelphia Police have altered training protocols for plainclothes officers for how they identify themselves, show their badges, and other ways in which they interact with the public. Police have also made changes in how deadly force incidents involving officers are investigated. This is one of the largest settlements involving a police shooting. The two officers are still on desk duty pending an internal investigation.

The body of a 17-year-old girl was found along the Delaware Canal towpath in Bucks County on Wednesday. Police responded to the area of Green Lane and Route 13 in Bristol, PA, just before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A homeless man discovered her body. Police are treating the death as suspicious. She has been identified and her family has been notified. Her name is being withheld at this point.
