The Phillies have now announced they have agreed on a one-year renewal contract for shortstop Freddy Galvis this past Friday and avoided arbitration. The one-year deal is supposedly worth $4.35 million. Galvis debuted back for the Phillies in April of 2012. In the 2016 season Galvis hit a .241 with 26 doubles, 3 triples, 20 home runs and 67 RBIs. Galvis was also ranked third among major league shortstops (according to FanGraphs). Also resigned was Right Handed Pitcher Jeanmar Gomez.

The Sixers take on the Bucks Monday afternoon in a long awaited match against teams with two huge rising stars in the NBA. Sixer's center Joel "The Process" Embiid, and the Buck's Forward Giannis "The Greek Freak" Antetokounmpo will go head to head tonight at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Joel Embiid had been on a rampage for the Sixers after injuries have benched him for two years since he was drafted. Embiid has been averaging 19.6 points per game, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks while playing 25.2 minutes in 27 games. On the other hand, the Buck's star forward Antetokounmpo leads the Milwaukee in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals per game. Antetokounmpo is well on track to the NBA All-Star game, and would be the first Milwaukee player in the All-Star game since 2004. Embiid is also getting a lot of coverage and praise from sports fans and celebrities alike. Many have been taking to twitter and encouraging others to vote for Embiid to get to the NBA All-Star game. Monday afternoon's matchup between the two will be their first time playing all season.

Villanova Men's Basketball has now moved back up to the Associated Press's No. 1 spot in College Basketball rankings. The Wildcats fell to third place after losing to Butler two weeks ago. Villanova moved past Kansas after Baylor was No. 1 for a week, Villanova received 28 first place points as well as 1,580 points from the 65-member panel. Kansas received more first place votes, but still remains at No. 2. In the USA Today Coach's poll, Kansas is #1 and Villanova is #2. Nova plays Seton Hall Monday night at 6:30.
