SEPTA Ends Late Train Refund; Armed Robber In Police Custody; Pregnant Teen Wanted For Stabbing

SEPTA officials stated that they have officially done away with giving refunds for late trains. SEPTA briefly stopped giving refunds for late trains over the summer after losing one-third of its rail cars created many delays. The service guarantee gave passengers the chance to request a full refund on Regional Rail tickets if a train was more than 15 minutes late. The policy also applied to two city subway lines, the Norristown High Speed Line, and two suburban trolley lines. SEPTA stated that they want to replace the policy with a smart fare-card system to reward loyal riders.

A suspect is now in police custody after a police chase that ended in West Philadelphia on Tuesday. The suspect was reportedly wanted for several armed robberies that took place early Wednesday morning. Police were already on the look out for the suspect after the robberies took place between 6:15 and 6:45 am Wednesday morning. After police got a tip of the suspect, a short police chased ensued, which ended at a dead-end on 41st and Warren streets. The suspect then got out of the car and ran until he was captured a few blocks away. The robberies committed by the suspect are still under investigation.

Police are now searching for pregnant teenager who was caught on video stabbing another girl in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia. The incident happened in a store on the 3100 block of Ridge Avenue just before 4 pm on Tuesday. Police say that a 17-year-old victim and two other girls were assaulted by five to six other girls. This is when one of the suspects, who is pregnant, pulled out a knife and began to stab the victim in her left forearm. The suspects then fled in unknown directions. The victim was then taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. See video below.
