The Sixers are taking on the Orlando Magic tonight at 7, and both teams will be facing some serious absences in their rosters. The Magic will be missing forward Aaron Gordon, who left the Magic's game against the Rockets on Tuesday with a bruised right foot. Magic Forward Jeff Green is also missing from the roster due to the birth of his first child. Jodie Meeks will also be absent on Thursday. Orlando has lost 16 of 21 games, and has not won consecutive games since after Christmas. Sixers' Joel Embiid will still be out of the game with a left knee contusion. The Sixers have had some help though with Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor filling in for Embiid.

The Eagles have now released cornerback Leodis McKelvin, which will save them $3 million in their salary cap. McKelvin was said to put the Eagle's cap over $3.45 million. McKelvin had two interceptions and 16 defended passes in 13 games this past season. The Eagles have stated that a new cornerback is their top priority, and are hopeful to draft one in the 2017 draft.

The Temple Owls are taking on #25 SMU tonight and are looking to get their third straight win, as they beat Tulane and South Florida in their past two games. Against Tulane, four of Temple's players scored with double figures, and five scored 10 points against South Florida. Temple comes in with a 13-11 record, and SMU comes in with a 20-4 record. The two teams met before this season in December and the Owls lost 65-79. Temple Head Coach Fran Dunphy stated about the team, "I think we're getting better (on defense), we're nowhere near where we need to be but I think we're getting better. We're understanding the concepts a little bit better, but we have to execute even more so to not give up too many second chance opportunities or easy baskets off of either bad shots or turnovers." Temple takes on SMU tonight at 9.
