Okafor Joining Sixers Vs. Celtics; Philly Native In NBA Slam Dunk Contest; Eagles Ticket Price Hike

The Sixers have now stated that Jahlil Okafor will be joining the team on Wednesday night against the Celtics. Okafor has been in the midst of a trade rumor between the Sixers and the Pelicans, and has not been playing much because of it. Head Coach Brett Brown said earlier this week that playing Okafor in the middle of the trade talks could complicate things. Coach Brown stated "It's still fluid but if you see me not play him, that's probably the reason."

With the NBA All-Star Weekend coming up this weekend, one of the big competitions of the weekend is the Slam Dunk contest that takes place on Saturday. One contestant to look for in the competition is 19-year-old Philly area native Derrick Jones. Jones is an Archbishop John Carroll Alum, and went on to play 30 games at UNLV. Jones was then signed by the Suns in September where he made his NBA debut. Jones will be competing against Aaron Gordon, DeAndre Jordan, and Glenn Robinson III. The NBA Slam Dunk Contest will take place this Saturday at 8.

Eagles season ticket holders have been hit with a surprise for the 2017-2018 season. The team has now raised each an average ticket up by $70. Some of the tickets have gone up from a $50 to a $150 per ticket. This is the first ticket price hike for the Eagles since 2014.
