City Officials are warning Conrail that it is time to improve their location in North Philadelphia. The city has issued citations to Conrail after they have failed to clean up their tracks in West Kensington and Fairhill. Mayor Kenney has stated that the rails are considered "hazardous conditions." The area is strewn with used heroin needles and other drug paraphernalia. Mayor Kenney said that the city has spent millions of dollars over the past decade improving the quality of the area in Kensington. The city has stated that Conrail has 30 days to respond to the citations.

Officials in Center City have announced a new effort to bring gun safety to Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police are now offering thousands of free gun locks that can help provide safety to the streets. The gun locks are made from vinyl covered steel plates that can be thread through the pistol chambers to prevent the weapon from firing. Hundreds of gunshots are fired each year in the city due to many accidents including misfires by children. The gun locks are available for free on the 5th floor office at City Hall.

On Thursday night, President Trump ordered an attack on a Syrian airbase in response to Syria's chemical weapons attack on their own citizens. The US launched 59 Tomahawk missiles from the USS Ross and USS Porter, which struck the Syrian government controlled Shayrat Airfield in Homs province in western Syria. The missiles targeted the airbase's airstrips, hangars, control tower as well as the ammunition areas. The missiles struck Syrian soil at around 8:45 pm EST. President Trump approved the attack without any approval from Congress or any backing from the United Nations. The White House stated that around two dozen lawmakers from both parties were briefed about the attack. The Syrian state TV has called the attack an "aggression." The Homs governor has reported deaths at the airbase. President Trump has stated that he is calling other nations to join to seek "to end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria."
