The FBI announced today that a Bucks County man is under arrest for allegedly stealing almost a half a million dollars over 11 separate bank robberies in Pennsylvania since 2012. 57-year-old Richard Boyle of Doylestown is charged with multiple counts of bank robbery, using or carrying a firearm during the commission of those bank robberies, and money laundering. Boyle was nicknamed "The Straw Hat Bandit" because of his proclivity for wearing a variety of hats during the robberies. He would also cover his face with a mask, pillowcase, or bandana. The FBI says that Boyle stole a total of $495,686. He allegedly attempted to launder the money through his aerial photography business. The list of banks he robbed is listed below.

Philadelphia Firefighters responded to a fire in the Tacony section on Wednesday night and found an alligator inside the burning apartment. It happened just before 8 p.m. above a barber shop on the corner of Unruh Ave. and Tulip St. The fire took about 15 minutes to bring under control and police discovered the 12-inch gator inside. The Red Paw Relief Team initially got the call but had to defer to the Animal Care & Control Team to handle the reptile. A person was sent to hospital in unknown condition.

A West Philadelphia maintenance man who was convicted last month of killing a Drexel University graduate student is dead after hanging himself in his Montgomery County prison cell. 58-year-old James Harris was found unresponsive on April 13th at Graterford State Prison and was pronounced dead at the hospital. He was serving a life sentence for the rape and murder of 27-year-old Jasmine Wright in July 2015. Harris had worked in her apartment building in University City but had been fired and came back with a spare set of keys.
