NJ Transit Driver Shot in Murder-Suicide; Pennsbury High Pool Hazmat; 1 Month Grace for PA Real ID

A NJ Transit bus driver has been shot and killed in an apparent murder-suicide this afternoon in Washington Township. It happened at a NJ Transit garage on the 6000 block of Black Horse Pike near Route 42. 45-year-old Ryon C. Reynolds of Sicklerville was shot and killed by a woman. A short time later, 44-year-old Piacenta Jackson of Woodbury shot and killed herself at a Mantua Township business at Center and Trenton Streets. Police are investigating a motive for the shooting and any relationship between Jackson and Reynolds.

Fire and Levittown-Fairless Hill Rescue Squad were called to Pennsbury High School for a possible chlorine leak this afternoon. A swim class with 21 students was finishing up when several students complained of difficulty breathing around 2 pm. Five students were taken to area hospital for evaluation. A chemical reaction in the pump room caused a chemical release. Hazmat crews evacuated the pool house and ventilated the building. Parents of the 21 students in the swimming class are being contacted by high school officials.

Pennsylvania has been granted a 'grace period' of one month beyond Tuesday's deadline by the Department of Homeland Security to have Read ID compliant state driver's licenses. Pennsylvania is still working to extend that deadline even further until it can implement its Real ID system, but anyone who needs to enter a military base or other federal facility does not have to worry about getting turned away tomorrow. The deadline for Real ID compliant identification for airplane travel is January 2018. Pennsylvania just passed legislation last month allowing state agencies to follow the federal 2015 Real Id Law. Previously, PA did not cooperate.

Weather
Tonight, Cloudy, chance of a shower, temperatures in the mid 50's this evening in Center City
