Philadelphia Police are now investigating a deadly shooting that took place in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia. The shooting took place on the 1400 block of Whitaker Avenue at around 6:45 pm on Thursday evening. Officials have stated that a police officer opened fire on the suspect. They also say the suspect was on a dirt bike before the shooting happened. Investigators found the suspect's gun on the scene, but have not said if it was loaded. Officials are still investigating into why the officer discharged his weapon.

Philadelphia Police are investigating into a string of robberies that they believe are all connected. Over the past month, three robberies have taken place at 7-Elevens in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. The first robbery took place on May 23rd on the 500 block of Ridge Avenue. Police say that the suspect entered the store and pretended to have a gun. The suspect tried to threaten the cashier, but he did not listen and the suspect left empty-handed. The next robbery took place this past Tuesday on the 6100 block of Ridge Avenue. Police say that the suspect walked in the store and was able to get away with $300. Only a few minutes and a couple blocks later, another robbery took place. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.

Philadelphia Police have placed a man into custody for the death and sexual assault of his 1-year-old step-son. Police were called to the 1700 block of Conestoga Street at around 5:30 pm on Wednesday with report of an unresponsive child. The child was then taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he was later pronounced dead. The doctors noticed many fresh bruises on the child as well as signs of sexual assault. The victim's step-father was taken to the Philly SVU for further questioning, where he was later arrested. He is now being charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and many other related offenses.
