A mother is dead and her son is injured after being hit by a car on Saturday evening in Port Richmond. It happened along Aramingo Ave. near Tioga before 9 p.m. The 28-year-old Hispanic woman was standing on the corner with her 9-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter. That's when a 39-year-old male in a Dodge Durango jumped the curb. The mother was able to push her daughter out of the way. The SUV struck the woman and her son. She was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The boy was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in critical but stable condition. The driver remained at the scene. He was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

Firefighters in Delaware County fought a three-alarm fire in Darby Borough on Saturday afternoon. It started after 4:00 p.m. on the 400 block of Main Street. Crews arrived to find heavy flames coming from the roof of a two story house. The fire spread to the next door property. SEPTA Route 11 trolley service was affected. The blaze was placed under control before 6 p.m. There were no reports of any injuries.

Philadelphia Police are looking for two suspects wanted for robbing and stabbing three people in Northeast Philadelphia early Saturday morning.
