Abington Township Police have released surveillance video of an armed robbery in a Jenkintown restaurant over the weekend where one of the suspects used an unusual knifed glove to threaten employees. It happened at the Qdoba Mexican Grill at the Pavilion at 261 Old York Rd shortly after closing time at 10 p.m. Saturday, July 1st. Two suspects entered the store and demanded money from the employees. The female suspect was armed with a large kitchen while the male suspect was wearing the "Freddy Kruger" or "Wolverine" type glove. The first suspect was described as a black male, 5' 8" to 5' 10", thin build, wearing a black hoodie pulled up, dark pants and shoes, black glove on his left hand, and a large "Freddy Kruger" style silver bladed glove on his right hand. The second suspect was described as a black female, 5' 2" to 5' 4", wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up, a dark baseball cap under the hood and a dark cloth covering her lower face, black pants, dark sneakers, and was armed with a large silver kitchen knife with a 12 inch blade. They made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Five Pennsylvania men were arrested in Ocean City, NJ, on July 4th for assaulting on-duty lifeguards on the beach. Police were called to the beach near Eighth Street around 4:30 p.m. for reports of a disturbance involving intoxicated men. Officers arrived to find the men assaulting the lifeguards. The men then turned towards the cops. Three were arrested on the beach and two were arrested after fleeing onto the boardwalk. 25-year-old Harold Corbin and 29-year-old Darnell Willingham of Philadelphia and 26-year-old Breland Roach and 23-year-old Qwanayzia Nelson of Harrisburg were all charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. 34-year-old Trevis Willingham of Philadelphia was charged disorderly conduct.

A 9-month old baby in Manayunk was found with a hypodermic needle sticking in his leg. It happened on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. on the 200 block of Green Lane. Medics responded to the home and found the child in a third floor bedroom. The father said that he had been in bed with the boy when the child rolled over onto the needle. He was taken to Chestnut Hill Hospital and is in stable condition. The father was taken to SVU and DHS has been contacted. Residue on the needle is being tested.
