Interim DA Elected; Folcroft Police Shooting Suspect Sentenced; Missing Malvern Woman's Home Search

Philadelphia officials have now voted and decided who will be the interim District Attorney to replace former DA Seth Williams. The panel of judges voted for former Assistant District Attorney Kelley Hodge, who received the most amount of votes among the four candidates up for the position. The process for the voting is done in a very interesting way. Each of the 88 judges from the Court of Common Pleas puts their vote into an old top hat that is kept in City Hall. The judges continue to vote until a candidate gets the majority vote. Hodge will now hold the interim DA title for five and a half months, until a new DA is elected in November.

The man responsible for shooting a Folcroft Police officer has now been sentenced for his crime. Donte Island was sentenced to 33 to 100 years in prison after he shot Folcroft Police Officer Christopher Dorman seven times during a drug investigation last June. Luckily, Dorman survived the incident, but had to have several surgeries to heal his wounds. He returned back to work just 2 and a half months after his injury. Island was sentenced earlier this week to 11 to 23 months in jail for other related gun and drug charges.

Pennsylvania State Police are now investigating the home of a missing Malvern woman. State Police detectives and forensic teams arrived at the house on Thursday morning with a search warrant. The woman, Anna Maciejewska, was reported missing by her family back in April. Her husband initially allowed authorities in the house, but he hired a lawyer and has not been voluntarily allowing police entry to his house since the disappearance. Officials have stated that her husband has not talked publicly about her disappearance, nor has he helped with the social media site or handing out missing person posters, which was done all by a team of Anna's friends. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
