Police are now investigating after one man was left dead after a hit-and-run incident on the Schuylkill Expressway in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. The victim, 30-year-old Sean Patrick Granger, was hit on the eastbound side of the highway on the Montgomery Drive off ramp at around 10:30 pm on Saturday. Police say that the driver of the vehicle, which is described as a dark colored Nissan, fled the scene after striking the victim. Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police (215-452-5216).

Philadelphia Police are continuing an investigation into a double shooting that took place in North Philadelphia that left one man dead and another in critical condition. The shooting took place just after 2:30 am on Sunday on the 700 block of East Russell Street. One of the victims, a 36-year-old male, was shot multiple times in the chest, leg, and torso and was pronounced dead later at Temple University Hospital. The other victim, a 28-year-old male, was also shot multiple times and is currently in critical condition. Police are still searching for the suspects and are searching for a motive in the shooting.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has now signed a new law that would require anyone who is convicted of killing someone while driving drunk to a minimum of 3 years in prison. The bill was signed on Friday after being passed by a Democrat-led Legislature The law would punish anyone who kills someone while under the influence when driving a car or a boat. The law is named the Ralph and David's law after Ralph Politi Jr. was hit by a drunk driver and the driver was not convicted. A driver also hit and killed 13-year-old David Heim and was only sentenced to 30 days in jail.
