A large fight was caught on cell phone camera during the Center City District Wednesday night Center City SIPS event last night. It happened around 6:30 pm at the Commerce Fountain plaza near 20th and Market near the Comcast Center. The video shows around 6 individuals grappling with each other and throwing punches as a big crowd cheers and throws liquid, cups, and cans. (See video below) Police were on foot patrol but not near the area the fight broke out. No one was arrested, but Philadelphia Police are aware of the incident and are reviewing the videos. Center City SIPS happens every Wednesday during the summer from 5-7 pm. Restaurants and bars in the area offer discounts and specials during the happy hour. The Center City District helps market and promote the weekly event. There are around 90 participating venues offering $5 cocktails, $4 wine, $3 beer and half-priced appetizers. CCD released a statement, "The CCD regrets that inappropriate behavior by six individuals in a 20-second incident that disrupted a relaxing after-work event at one of 90 participating venues last evening has cast a shadow on a highly successful promotional event that hundreds of thousands of guests have enjoyed for more than 11 years." the Center City District said. "The CCD is responsible for marketing the SIPS promotion and continues to urge guests to behave in a responsible manner and bars and restaurants to monitor the safety of their guests."

Two carjacking suspects were arrested by Philadelphia Police early this morning in Rhawnhurst after a wild night that included shots being fired. It started just after 12 a.m. in Fairless Hills, Bucks County, when the 2 suspects stole a silver Hyundai Tuscon. At 4:21 a.m., the pair held up the security guard at the Santander Bank on the 9800 block of Bustleton Avenue in Bustleton. They took his cell phone and car keys. One suspect then drove off in the guard's white Toyota Camry. Police spotted the two vehicles shortly after and followed them to the edge of Pennypark Park at Horrocks and Strahle streets. When they tried to pull them over, the man in the Toyota jumped out and pointed a gun at police. The officer fired a shot and the man ran off towards the park. He was apprehended a short time later. The other man was taken into custody without incident. There were no reported injuries.

A man has died after a house fire overnight in Montgomery County. The fire broke out around 2 a.m. on the 600 block of Garfield Avenue in Ardsley, Abington Township. A neighbor reported the blaze to 911. Four separate fire companies responded. Heavy smoke and flames were pouring out of the home. Abington Township Fire Marshal Kenneth Clark said that authorities had prior contact with the homeowner about hoarding conditions. Those conditions inside the house fueled the fire and made fighting it difficult. Firefighters were able to bring it under control in half and hour. They found the man in his 50's or 60's on the living room floor. He was pronounced dead by paramedics. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

Weather
