A man was arrested this morning after throwing eggs at the statue of former Mayor Frank Rizzo in Center City Philadelphia. It happened in broad daylight around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday. The statue is located out front of the Municipal Services Building across from City Hall. The incident was caught on camera. The man was chased down by police officers and placed into custody. The 25-year-old man from Maplewood, NJ, was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. The statue had been surrounded by barricades after it was also vandalized last night. It had been egged and a sign reading "Shame on President Trump" was taped to the front. Following incidents around the country over the weekend, a debate has been renewed about whether the statue should have a prominent place in the city. City Councilwoman Helen Gym says the statue should come down. A change.org petition started by South Philadelphia Marc Ferguson has over 15,000 signatures in support of keeping the statue.

The CEO of the Campbell Soup Company based in Camden, NJ, has stepped down from President Donald Trump's Manufacturing Jobs Initiative panel. "Racism and murder are unequivocally reprehensible and are not morally equivalent to anything else that happened in Charlottestville," Campbell's CEO Denise Morrison said in a statement. "I believe the President should have been - and still needs to be - unambiguous on that point. Following yesterday's remarks from the President, I cannot remain on the Manufacturing Jobs Initiative. I will continue to support all efforts to spur economic growth and advocate for the values that have always made America great." Morrison was the sixth business leader to resign from the panel following leaders of Merck, Intel, Under Armour, 3M, and the Alliance for American Manufacturing. Immediately after Morrison's announcement, Trump tweeted that he was ending both the Manufacturing Council and the Strategy & Policy Forum.
