Philadelphia Police are now investigating a hit and run incident that took place in Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday. The incident took place at around 9:30 pm on Roosevelt Boulevard at Southampton Road. The vehicle struck the victim in the northbound inner lanes of the boulevard. The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and was last seen heading northbound on the boulevard toward Bucks County. Police say that the victim, a woman in her 20's was taken to Aria Torresdale with serious injuries. Police are still searching for the driver of the vehicle.

The Methacton Education Association and the Methacton Board of Education agreed to enter into a non-binding arbitration on Wednesday. This means that the teacher strike in Methacton has come to an end and classes will resume on Friday, but schools will continue to stay closed on Thursday in observance of Rosh Hashanah. The teachers went on strike beginning Monday after they had not been working with a contract since January. The issues that are being discussed include salary, benefits, class size, teacher-student ratio and team building.

A Pennsylvania man charged with the murder of a Temple University student is denying the allegations. 29-year-old Joshua Hupperterz said that he did not cause any harm to the victim 22-year-old Jenna Burleigh. Burleigh's body was found early this month on property that belonged to the defendant's grandmother. Burleigh was last seen leaving a bar near Temple's campus with Hupperterz, who is a former Temple student. A corner has stated that Burleigh died of blunt trauma and strangulation. Hupperterz was due in court for a preliminary hearing but the case has been pushed back to November.
