PHL Flight Turned Around; Small Plane Crash In Montco: Search For Chinatown Bank Robber

An American Airlines flight departing out of Philadelphia had to turn around and land due to problems with the plane. Officials noticed that there was a problem with the plane's landing gear once they were in the air. The pilots then made the decision to return the plane to the ground. They were able to land the plane without any complications. Luckily there were no injuries sustained in the incident.

Montgomery County Police are now investigating after a small plane crashed in Whitpain Township. The crash happened at around 5 pm near the intersection of Meade Road and West Butler Pike on Sunday. The plane crashed into a side yard and trees of a home on Meade Road. Neighbors quickly rushed to the scene and were able to cut the seat belt from around the pilot's neck. No word on his condition. Montgomery County officials are still continuing an investigation into what cause the plane to crash. The National Transportation Safety Bureau is also investigating the crash.

Philadelphia Police are searching for a bank robber who has been involved in a string of violent bank robberies in Chinatown. Police say that the robberies have taken place during mid-day and all involve a similar description of a man armed with a knife. Two of the robberies have taken place at the Abacus Federal Savings Bank. The first one on September 9th and the second on the 19th. A third robbery took place this past Saturday at Parke Bank near 11th and Arch Streets. The man has been described as a black male in his 20's or 30's, approximately 5' 10" with a thin build. Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.
