Amazon Key In Philly; PA Medical Marijuana Registry; 23-Year-Old Bear Dies At Philly Zoo

Amazon announced that Philadelphia residents as well as residents in other major cities will be able to use their new feature Amazon Key. Amazon Key allows customers to have packages delivered right inside of their front door. Customers must have the Amazon Cloud Cam and smart lock to use this feature. The way the feature works is when the driver arrives, they scan the barcode on the package. The Cloud cam then turns on and unlocks the door. Customers are able to watch a live feed of the delivery as well as a recording on their smartphone. Amazon officials say that delivery drivers are not provided with keys or codes.

After Philadelphia launched its medical marijuana registry last week it already has more than 3800 patients signed up. In addition to the patients more than 200 caregivers have also registered for the program. The medical marijuana program was passed last spring and will offer medical marijuana to people suffering from serious illnesses. Officials say that the program is to be fully implemented by next year.

Philadelphia Zoo Officials announced on Wednesday that the beloved 23-year-old Asiatic Black Bear named Ben has passed away. Officials say that Ben was euthanized after a battle with squamous cell carcinoma. Back in April, zookeepers found a wound that would not heal on Ben's front paw. They say the wound began to worsen; this is when he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, which is a malignant skin tumor. The tumor was surgically removed and his foot began to heal, but then in September it came back and was rooted deeper in his paw. Officials say that due to the poor prognosis for the successful treatment they concluded that euthanasia would be the most humane option. Ben was born back in 1994 at the Natural Bridge Zoological Park and arrived in Philadelphia back in April of 2002.
