Applebees Shooting in Lawrenceville, NJ; Delco Doctor Arrested Indecent Assault; Woman Killed on Rt1

Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside an Applebees in Lawrenceville, Mercer County early Tuesday morning. It happened just before 12:30 a.m. at the restaurant at 3330 Brunswick Pike (Rt 1). The restaurant and bar is usually open until 1 a.m. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says that the victim, a man in his 20's, was sitting at the bar. The suspect walked into the restaurant, shot the man in the head, and left. He fled north on Rt 1 in a black SUV. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police taped off the parking lot and have been thoroughly investigating the scene. This was the first homicide in Lawrenceville in 16 years.

Upper Darby police have charged a Delaware County doctor with the indecent assault of two patients. Dr. Brij Srivastava was arrested on Tuesday. He is accused of fondling two of his patients on two separate occasions. He is free on $50,000 bail.

The Philadelphia Fire Department and police responded after a woman was struck on the Roosevelt Boulevard in Mayfair this afternoon. It happened around 2:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Tyson Avenue. A 70-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stopped and remained at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
